Acronyms and abbreviations

The definition for an acronym is placed inside parentheses following the acronym.

1. An acronym or abbreviation consists of three or more capitalized letters. Acronyms or abbreviations with mixed capitalization, such as GmbH(Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) are not recognized. This was discussed in the Textpattern forum.
2. Textile will output the <abbr> tag instedad of the <acronym> tag if your doctype preference is set to HTML 5.
