Footnotes are referenced in the text with a footnote number in square brackets. Don’t forget the corresponding footnote at the bottom of the page

1) A reference without linking to the footnote:

footnote[1!].

2) A footnote with a backlink:

fn1^. This footnote links back to where it was _first_ referenced.
